Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, at Stavanger) is a Norwegian artist and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was recorded to accompany an ad campaign for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is a Nat King Cole cover. She gained some further recognition from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding a grand piano in the attic. She was fascinated by what it could do. Parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a career or hobby but as a way to develop. As a result, she started writing her own music. As well as Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. When her mother told her that her songs could not only help her gain fame, and also inspire others to see their value within the global community and see how they can benefit from her songs and her music, she was inspired to start singing in public. When she began playing the piano, she was six years old and started writing songs by the time she was nine. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family until she reached the age of fourteen. There was no way she could have imagined to be Aurora. According to her, she just loves writing music. The music she writes is how she feels about anything.
